The South Sudan Study Hub (“we,” “our,” “us”) respects the intellectual property rights of authors, creators, institutions, publishers, and organizations. We expect all users to do the same.

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or legal action.
3. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe that your copyrighted work has been uploaded or displayed on the South Sudan Study Hub without permission, you may submit a Copyright Infringement Notice.
To file a valid claim, your notice must include:
Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
URL(s) or specific location(s) of the infringing material on our Platform.
Your contact information, including:
Full name
Email address
Phone number (optional)
A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is unauthorized.
A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are either the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
Your electronic or physical signature.

Incomplete notices may delay processing.
4. What Happens After You Submit a Copyright Notice
Upon receiving a valid notice:
We review the claim.
We may temporarily remove or disable the allegedly infringing content.
We notify the user who uploaded the content.
We may request additional information if needed.
If the issue is confirmed, the content remains removed.
Repeat offenders may have their accounts terminated.
We aim to handle claims promptly and fairly.
5. Counter-Notice Procedure (If You Believe Your Content Was Removed in Error)
If your content was removed based on a copyright complaint and you believe this was a mistake, you may submit a Counter-Notice.
Your counter-notice must include:
Identification of the content removed and its location before removal.
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake or the content is lawful.
Your contact information (name, email, phone).
Your consent to the jurisdiction of applicable courts to resolve disputes.
Your electronic or physical signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notice:
We may restore the content within 10–14 days unless the original complainant takes legal action.
6. Repeat Infringers
We may terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe on the copyrights of others.
“Repeat infringer” may include users with:
Multiple valid copyright complaints,
A pattern of unauthorized uploads, or
Intentional misuse of the Platform.
7. Content Removal Without Notice
We may remove any content, at our discretion, that:
Violates copyright law,
Violates community guidelines,
Harms or misleads others,
Contains explicit or harmful material,
Has inaccurate metadata or misattributed authorship.
We are not obligated to restore removed content.
8. Educational Fair Use Disclaimer
The South Sudan Study Hub hosts materials intended for:
Education
Research
Teaching
Personal study
Academic referencing
Some content may be used under fair use guidelines for educational purposes, commentary, or research.
Fair use determinations depend on jurisdiction and context.
Users must still ensure they have legal rights to upload materials.
